Vinosia Falanghina IGT 2016, Campania, Italy, $18.99

Exotic fruits, citrus and white flowers. Bright acidity, and perfectly balanced. Falanghina can have a slight pine scent, but is better known for citrus blossom aromas, in particular bitter orange. On the palate, it typically shows classic apple and pear flavors, with spicy or mineral notes.

Food Pairings: Seafood: grilled or fried fish; sushi, sashimi or maki; seafood risotto; Salads: caprese salad (tomatoes, mozzarella, basil), “Ceasar” type salads with or without chicken; Pasta: served with an oil base; Poultry; grilled vegetables, mozzarella di bufala.

Bersano Barbera d’Asti 2015, Piedmont, Italy $14.99

Bright garnet hue; sour cherry and floral notes are evident on the nose; light earthy, strawberry/ cherry fruit flavors with light leather notes and good acidity.

Food Pairings: Perfect with all pasta dishes, pizza, chicken, lamb, beef and soft cheeses.

Shannon Ridge Home Ranch Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2014, Lake County, CA $27.99

This is an intense and full-bodied wine from top vineyard locations. The Red Hills AVA and volcanic soils provide ripe red fruits, bright cherry, anise, dark chocolate and soft tannins to the blend. Aromas of toasted bread, maple syrup and baking spices, then moves to red and black cherry flavors, with a sweet sensation on the palate. The texture is moderately tannic but easy to sip.

Food Pairings: with a charming accent of oak, would perform beautifully with a juicy bone-in ribeye.
