Blend: 70% Grenache and 30% Syrah. Lively red berry, lavender and peppery spices on the nose, joined by a mineral nuance in the glass. Juicy, focused and gently sweet, offering vibrant black raspberry and cherry flavors that stretch out and become spicier with air. Finishes silky and long, delivering solid thrust and smooth, even tannins.

Food Pairings: It is a delight with red meat, game, and cheeses.

Domaine du Gour de Chaule Gigondas 2012, Rhone, France $42.99

Blend: Cinsault, Grenache, Mourvedre, Syrah. Highly perfumed scents of ripe red and dark berries, garrigue, incense and smoky minerals. Sappy, seamless and appealingly sweet, offering intense red and dark berry liqueur and lavender flavors and a suggestion of star anise. Spreads out and becomes spicier on the finish, which features supple tannins and a potent whiplash of candied flowers.

Food Pairings: Rice, pasta, vegetables, mushroom, stewed meat, sausage, pork, roast meat, red and/or white meat with sauces, aged cheeses.

From the estate’s younger vines. Bright red color with darker hints.  On the nose, rich red berries such as black currant and ripe cherry with a soft spicy touch.  On the palate soft tannins, showing berry fruits and sweet spices as well.

Domaine Bois de Boursan Chateauneuf-du- Pape 2013, Rhone, France $58.99

Blend: 70% Grenache, 10% Syrah, 10% Mourvèdre, 10% other varieties. It is a ten-hectare domaine, the average age of the vines is 50 years. Organically grown grapes. The vinification is traditional to its core: the grapes are not destemmed; the maceration extends for at least three weeks and the aging in wood of varying size and age is 18 months or longer.

Food Pairings: Perfect to serve with everything from grilled beef, veal, pork, game, duck, sausage and lamb, to stews, braised dishes, cassoulet and rich seafood dishes.
