Dry, sharp then a light floral, herbal flavor. Mild acidity. Made from the Vespaiolo grape in Bassano del grappa. Initially shy nose followed by an overwhelming mouth where typical chardonnay hints such as butter vanilla notes dance with crisp freshness, salty notes and a slight fizz. Top drinkability

Ken Wright Cellars Pinot Blanc 2015, Willamette Valley, $31.99

100% Pinot Blanc, barrel fermented, and barrel aged in neutral French oak barrels. Aromatically has bright notes of melon, grapefruit, butterscotch with refreshing acidity. It is very clean and focused on the palate.
Food Pairings: grilled or fried fish; seafood risotto; poultry; grilled vegetables.

Viña Tabalí Pinot Noir Reserva Especial 2014, Limarí Valley, Chile $24.99

The grapes for this wine were sourced from the vineyards located in the coastal area of the Limarí Valley in the north of Chile. The wine was aged for 12 months in 100% French oak barrels. The nose offers fresh red berry aromas with notes of spice and pleasing wet earthy notes. The varietal fruit is perfectly integrated with the French oak and the palate is bright with a balanced silky mouthfeel.
Food Pairings: can be enjoyed on its own, or with a wide range of cuisine, particularly salmon, roast lamb, or salads with cheeses and nuts.

La Puerta Classico Malbec 2017, Famatina Valley, Argentina $14.99

This Valle de la Puerta Clasico Malbec displays a beautiful, saturated red color. The rich bouquet is full of fruit with hints of violets. These notes continue on the palate, where they mingle with flavors of ripened plum, cherries, and this wine’s smooth and sweet tannins. This delightful Malbec is well-balanced across the palate, with a long and persistent finish.

Shannon Ridge Home Ranch Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2014, Lake County, CA $27.99

This is an intense and full-bodied wine from top vineyard locations. The Red Hills AVA and volcanic soils provide ripe red fruits, bright cherry, anise, dark chocolate and soft tannins to the blend. Aromas of toasted bread, maple syrup and baking spices, then moves to red and black cherry flavors, with a sweet sensation on the palate. The texture is moderately tannic but easy to sip.
Food Pairings: with a charming accent of oak, would perform beautifully with a juicy bone-in ribeye.

MR Premium Red Ravasqueira 2014, Portugal $70.99

Grapes: Syrah, Aragonez, Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca.
Release during the most exceptional vintages. Complexity and intensity sum this cellar worthy red wine. Extended ageing in new French oak allow for harmonious wine and wood interaction, developing peat, cedar and chocolate notes, along with black and red fruits with dried figs. Black pepper and herbs with black olives also present on the nose. Balsamic, dark berries and meat on the palette with a strong mineral finish. Oak Grove Red Blend 2015, California $12.99

A blend of Cabernet, Zinfandel and Petite Sirah. Fruity and lush, this medium-bodied wine has a smooth texture and a generous array of crushed raspberry, strawberry and blackberry flavors.
Food Pairings: Foods that have a touch of hot spice such as blackened fish or jambalaya. Meatloaf, spaghetti and meatballs, baked pasta dishes. Caramelized roast veggies such as roast squash, red peppers, fried or grilled mushrooms.

Amapola Creek Cuvee Alis 2013, Sonoma CA $47.99

The 2013 Cuvée Alis Estate (66% Grenache, 22% Mourvèdre and 12% Syrah) is a hefty, high-octane style (15.6% alcohol) with loads of kirsch liqueur, pepper, lavender, earth and underbrush. It is Provençal, deep, full-bodied, and a total lusty treat. Drink it over the next 5-6 years.
Food Pairings: This is a beautiful wine for grilled or braised meat, Osso Bucco, and medium-aged herbed cheeses.

Keenan Winery Cabernet Sauvignon 2013, Napa $63.99

The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon is deep and powerful from the get go, with beams of supporting tannin and acidity that give the wine its sense of proportion. There is plenty of nuance in the dark fruit, along with terrific aromatic complexity, but today the tannins are imposing, to say the least. Readers should be prepared to cellar the 2013 for at least a few years, but even that may not be enough. This is another terrific example of the vintage. Vinous 93 pts
Food Pairings: Rich and intense meat dishes—beef, lamb and venison, in particular.

Rozes White Port Reserve NV, Portugal, $22.99

Because the wine for this port is aged in wood for 8 years, this drinks like a vibrant, youthful, tawny Port. Full of dried apricot and raisin fruit and lightly caramelized walnut and almond flavors, it’s lightly sweet and long on the palate.
Food Pairings: As an aperitif or for sipping after dinner, the perfect companion is salted almonds — just as roasted walnuts goes with red port; salted almonds bring out the flavor of White Port. For a casual food pairing, try a White Port cooler with fresh popped, buttered and salted popcorn.
